Is Guadalajara Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Guadalajara is moderately safe for solo female travelers. As with any other city, the level of safety can greatly depend on the area. Some neighborhoods are much safer than others. General safety measures include avoiding deserted and poorly lit areas at night, not displaying valuables, and using known and reliable taxi services. Although locals are generally friendly and crime rates are lower compared to some other cities in Mexico, incidents of pickpocketing and bag snatching can happen, especially in crowded areas. Therefore, it is important to always remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings.

I loved Guadalajara, the ambient and the colors, what a cool big city, great food and music during night time and the best part is that there's a lot of vegan places to eat, I'm pretty sure that I will return in the next years🩷

Guadalajara is a great city and really cool to visit alone but the People know thats your a tourist. Don't go outsider alone in the night. Don't go alone in quarter who are empty. Take an uber, it's safer and it's priceless. There are so many people who dispeared espacially women. Don't take a blablacar alone and who are not well rated : thats really dangerous !

I've lived here my whole life and have never experienced anything bad happen to me. I don't live in a bad part of the city (but also not in the privileged, rich part which is safer), and I still haven't felt at risk.

Depends on the area where you're at and the time. Down town it's fine, you can walk and find a lot of people but for me it's better to walk before 9pm, it's ok if you want to walk later I just personally feel a bit unsafe there.

Guadalajara’s hotspots and touristic spots are fairly safe in the daytime. But for a solo female traveller you really ought to be careful after dark, and ask locals about safety precautions and possible dangers.
