A very safe little town with some very good restaurants and shops. The bookstore is a real highlight, as is the main plaza where on weekend evenings there are shows for the kids and a craft fair to buy keepsakes and gifts.

Puerto Morelos is safe and walkable, with scuba diving, restaurants, a supermarket, beaches, and more all walkable from the main square. Within easy driving access are the airport, cenotes, and many other attractions. The town is well lit and safe at night especially around the main square.
