i feel pretty safe within salt lake city itself! sometimes a little paranoid walking in the city at night but that’s apart of being a woman. for the most part you’re safe! it’s not a very crowded so really no need to worry. i feel very safe on public transport, tend to get cat called in salt lake when im wearing slightly revealing clothing, but low crime rates and im not worried about being physically attacked :)

I feel with any city there are going to be places that are safe and places to avoid. Central downtown near city Creek Mall and temple are fairly safe. I would not recommend going too far west or south in the city. South Salt Lake is not a safe area. Almost everywhere else in the valley is very safe. I strongly recommend exploring the nearby hiking trails if that's the type of thing you're into.

The city has a small-town of atmosphere of hospitality. Locals are typically attentive and helpful if you ask advice and directions. The Temple area is a peaceful area to rest, sit in the garden to write, use your phone, take pictures, amor simply reflect for the day. There great culturally diverse restaurants to go. Drive through the University of Utah campus and their enormous magnificent stadium. Check out college games to watch. Check out the state capitol, City Creek Mall, and the modern architecture of the city library. If you plan to stay longer, check out the Big 5 national parks of Utah. Looking forward to see you in Salt Lake City.

It's a small town, has good neighborhoods, I would just stay away from certain downtown areas at night, but it is pretty much safe and people is really nice. Not a city for partying but it has its good things

Salt Lake has some sketchy areas, especially in the more urban areas of town at night, but it generally feels safe. During the day, I feel confident and comfortable in most places alone, but at night there are a few places I would avoid (Liberty Park, Gateway, Downtown SLC.)
Posted: April 11, 2024It really safe but still keep your guards up as always! You can go anywhere alone and still be safe. Everyone around is pretty nice and will be helpful if needed or asked. The only street that would not be safe is the street homeless lives on and i just say that because majority are addicts
Posted: March 21, 2024Beautiful city and state! The unhoused can be a concern, but just be aware of you surroundings and avoid dark streets at night. During the day perfectly safe to be alone and see downtown! Hiking in the nearby canyons is beautiful and completely safe as a solo female.
Posted: March 11, 2024Utah is a safe place in general, and being in Salt Lake City (the biggest city in Utah), I have never had any uncomfortable situations or potential dangerous contact with someone. There is a homeless population there that are scattered throughout the city, but I have volunteered at some homeless shelters and they are very kind, thoughtful people.
Posted: February 29, 2024I really enjoyed Salt Lake City. The city is quite transparent and extremely clean, with beautiful views of the mountains and hiking trails, as well as plenty of people walking around and spending time in their own ways.
