Posted: May 16, 2025The north side is definitely the most active in terms of crime, it has the poorest zip code in WI. The Milwaukee County Bus system is usually used for people who can't afford cars. I do use it for Summerfest and when I went to college at UWM

As long as you keep to the main areas on both sides of the bridge, you should be more than fine walking alone as a woman during the day. But also keep more aware at night just in case. Bay City is not terrible but every now and then there'll be some violent crime.
Posted: May 14, 2025It varies. Some areas are nicer than others. Around where I live I feel pretty safe walking around. I wear my headphones and don’t tend to worry more than the regular amount of caution one should have regardless of where you are.
Posted: May 13, 2025Virginia Beach is a pretty safe place overall. Crime has gone down in recent years, especially violent crime, and most areas feel comfortable to walk around, even at night. Like any city, just stay aware of your surroundings.

Norfolk has made progress in reducing violent crime, with a notable drop in homicides. However, property crime is still higher than average, so it’s smart to stay alert. Many neighborhoods are vibrant and welcoming—just take the usual precautions, especially at night or in unfamiliar areas.
Posted: May 10, 2025Pretty safe depending on what areas you are in of the city. Generally like any big city, car theft is probably the most common crime. Public transport can be sketchy since most people in LA have cars and drive.
Posted: May 9, 2025I think as in any other place, we have to be aware of our surroundings and our drinks. There is a large homeless population that might make people uneasy, but I've personally never had any issues with them. Overall, it's a fairly safe place, and people do watch out for one another. I've been out late at night / downtown alone plenty of times and have never felt unsafe.

Madison, WI is a very safe city. I have lived here for 8+ years and have never really felt like I was in danger. Wisconsinites are generally very kind and will chat and help. There are sometimes strange people downtown at night, but mostly they just yell at people to keep to themselves. Downtown is usually packed with college students, and is considered pretty dang safe.

Kansas City MO is typically safe. There are a few areas within the city that are a no go zone for anyone (especially women). Other than those small areas the city is safe. I would not recommend to take any city transport. Taking cabs or renting a car is the only way to truly see the city.

Though I stayed in Phoenix, most of my time was spent in other parts of the state. Like all major cities, however, Phoenix has its good and its bad, and as long as you are aware of your surroundings and don't go out at night by yourself, it can be a good experience. Outside of Phoenix, at places like Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and Tombstone, I felt generally safe enough to travel alone and did not experience any harassment (but that could be just a me experience as I am sure that some others may have had that sort of experience)

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel during our exchange trip. The accommodation was decent for the experience, but unfortunately, the food at the hotel was below average. That said, the overall experience was really enjoyable. I loved exploring many of the city's monuments, and we even got the chance to attend a baseball game, which was a highlight! For food, I highly recommend Elephant & Castle and Pizza Uno at Union Station they were definitely a step up from the hotel dining. My favorite place was the National Gallery of Art a must-visit if you're in the city. Overall, the city felt quite safe, and I had a great time discovering it.
