I feel our city is a safe place to be in. I’m not walking around worried someone is going to snatch my belongs or watching where I’m going to come into my space and take anything from me later. We do have a large population of homeless, but they keep to themselves unless provoked. It’s just a safe place
Posted: June 5, 2025I always say it’s best to be aware of surroundings, but for the most part, during the day- Phoenix is safe in many parts! I would say to make sure to have a buddy if being out at night, as I don’t feel the most comfortable out at night.
Posted: June 5, 2025There are systemic issues that have impacted the locals who have lived here for generations. Sometimes these issues cause a sense of helplessness as city officials decide to give their attention elsewhere. This means people’s needs go unaddressed, and it can create a sense of trauma and fight for survival.
Posted: June 5, 2025Tucson is pretty safe based on my experiences and resident here for a long time now. There are areas of thcson that are more sketchy and unsafe compared to other parts of the city but it's not super bad. Mostly just the city looking like trash and homeless people everywhere. It feels unsafe but I have never had anything happen to me wheel walking in those areas or taking the bus.

Oak Harbor is a sleepy town, most places closing up around 9pm. The downtown area and state parks are great and welcoming, no Seattle freeze up here :) Bit of cultural diversity due to the military base in town. Not much of an LGBT presence in the area. Note: Over by the shopping centers (Walmart, Safeway) are quite a bit of unhoused people meandering about but they usually don’t cause trouble. Just not a spot to go after dark.

The U.S. is somewhat safe if you stay vigilant. It’s not the most unsafe country but it’s not the most safe. There is a ton of surveillance and law enforcement around at all times so I feel comfortable moving around the country solo.

Honestly I really liked it but I felt a little bit unsafe after dark and not being in a touristy places. I was traveling g on a budget and I think I paid like $200 for 4 days there (not including flights and a place to sleep). I was using public transportation all of the time.
Posted: June 4, 2025I travelled inland from SFO to Sisters Oregon, and back via the coast. I stayed some nights with friends, some nights with Couchsurfing hosts and some nights at a hotel/motel I rented a car to get around as I also wanted to be independent and be able to stop where I wanted. I felt safe, and people were very friendly wherever I came.
