Hi! My name is Eden and I just wanted to tell you how safe Benton Arkansas is. Benton is a very safe area and I can confidently say that. The population has been growing over these last few years but so far the area is still very safe! Very green and there’s a lot of mountains in the state but not a lot to do if you like to stay indoors!
Posted: November 14, 2024Hobe Sound is very safe! I have never felt scared of walking alone or worried about theft. In fact, I leave my front door unlocked everyday and work 30 min out of town. The beaches are safe as well and the public beaches have lifeguards.

Orlando is a tourist Mecca and I always feel safe exploring all over town. Public transit isn’t used often here but I have always felt safe when I used it. I often walk alone at night in a variety of neighborhoods and never felt unsafe.
Posted: November 12, 2024It’s a good town outside of Kansas City, MO. That’s where you need to be on full alert. But in Overland Park, it’s pretty suburban and safe. It’s pretty diverse as much as middle America can be. You’ll be safe here.
Posted: November 12, 2024It is fairly safe during the day time hours. I would suggest female travelers to stick to the happenings areas in uptown post 8 PM. And try to avoid walking in dark in not so happenings areas. The city also doesn’t have a lot of street lights so I would suggest you stick having activities planned until 8 PM and then retire and energize for the next day.
Posted: November 11, 2024Philadelphia is very safe if you stay in Center City. If you are a tourist, do not try to walk from Center City to Fishtown or from Center City to South Philadelphia (where the sports complex is). You may end up in an unsafe neighborhood. Crime wise, you may be mugged, but are unlikely to be the victim of rape or murder. Stay alert and travel with others at night when possible. The buses are safer than the subways. Ubers and Lyfts are generally very safe.

Like any place, certain areas should be avoided if possible after night. Downtown Chicago has been experiencing some cases of young groups harassing folks around Millennium Park but local police have taken measures by enforcing curfews. As far as train lines, if using the red I would be careful of going south of china town. Overall I have lived in Chicago for 32 years and have never been robbed or pickpocketed. Lots of lovely places and nice folks. Def great food.
Posted: November 11, 2024San Diego is a big place and so safety definitely varies depending on where you are. The main tourist areas near the ocean and along the waterfront downtown are generally pretty safe. During the day, I feel fine doing things alone. Uber/Lyft are plenty and public transport is there, but slow and sparse. Use basic travel smarts (lock your car, keep valuables stowed where people can't see them, keep your phone charged should you need to look up alternative routes/plans for getting around).
Posted: November 10, 2024While the downtown area is vibrant and warm, you need to be careful in certain areas. There is quite a bit of gang violence in the city, and it is also present in certain parts of the suburbs. I would not recommend using public transportation.
Posted: November 10, 2024Detroit has had a bad reputation for years of having been neglected by its government and abandoned by populations who wanted to live out the suburban dream, but the city is way safer than it looks (it’s very spread out so parts of the city have a lot of derelict houses and not a lot of people on the street), and way safer than racist folks in the burbs will tell you. BUT like anywhere, you have to be aware of your surrounds, not on your devices outside, and know something about the neighborhood you’re in. Don’t wander around at night in neighborhoods where no one else is walking around. Don’t go around snapping pictures of falling down houses and breaking into abandoned buildings. Even if the house looks terrible, someone may live there and regardless, neighbors don’t want someone coming in doing a disaster photography tour. People in Detroit are super-friendly, amazing hosts, very open and kind. YOU HAVE TO SAY HI in Detroit when you see someone or at least nod at them/greet them in some way. It’s taken as the basic acknowledgement of someone’s humanity. If you look people in the eye and greet them, the city opens up to you. Like the t-shirt slogan here goes, “say nice things about Detroit.”

My husband and I visit Maui, and stayed at 3 different Airbnbs in different areas of Maui. I felt extremely safe in all the neighborhood! The food is just amazing, from food truck to high end restaurants, they really know how to make the food right. I don’t think you can go wrong with any restaurant to be honest. The hotel or Airbnbs are generally pretty pricey, ranging from 400-600 for some modest stay. But the overall experience is pretty magical, Maui got rain forest and dry side, so it leads to many different types of activities like hiking, snorkeling etc, I have to say that if you plan to go to Hana, the highway is pretty challenging given that it a 3 hours drive by the cliff, and sometimes you have to wait bc the road becomes single lane. It was our honeymoon, so we had a little budget to play with. If you go solo, I would definitely recommend it!
Posted: November 17, 2024I treated my dad to an immersive experience for his birthday and it was great. I rode on the subway for the first time which was also an exciting experience. We spent 2 days together then he left and stayed behind on my own for a few days more where I went on a self-guided walking tour of DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights on my own which was so memorable but would have been better with company.
