there are some really great areas and then other areas where you should not be late at night. I would always have a buddy if possible towards the nighttime but genuinely pretty safe. Not a super walkable city so car is def a necessary

Miami is a cosmopolitan city but the crime rate is one of the lowest in the state of Florida and in the United States. There are areas that are more prone to have violence than others. Where I live is a family oriented area with A+ school district therefore is pretty quite and safe.
Posted: October 7, 2024It depends on the district, there’s places you can’t go at night as a woman. Tourist places tend to be okay, but you can experience sexual harassment anyways. For someone to rob into your house is not common.
Posted: September 27, 2024Some areas of the city are super safe, however, it is better to be in company during the night time. Be aware of driving, there are quite few motor vehicle accidents. Not every place is bike friendly.
Posted: August 22, 2024Miami, FL is a beautiful place. There are so many things to do and places to stay. I recommend checking out the Wynnwood are and nearby beaches. South Beach is the perfect place to visit during the day.
Posted: June 27, 2024I have lived in Miami for 1.5 years and I feel moderately safe here. I would not walk alone late at night especially in certain neighborhoods, but overall I do not feel unsafe. I live in a building with 24 hour security so that gives me peace of mind, but I always take Uber or drive myself late at night rather than walking.

Certain areas are better than others but you have to be careful. Because Miami gets a reputation for being this party city where people come, party and leave, there leaves little repercussions for perpetrators. I might be jaded because I get harassed on a daily basis just for living here (driving to work yesterday I had a guy actually tailgate me making lewd faces and hand gestures which really isn’t out of the norm). Men are constantly wanting to exert dominance over women here in Miami and I’ve experienced it myself. My colleagues also ALWAYS telling me to be careful with my dating life because dominance is the mentality of most men here. I do understand that’s the case everywhere to some extent but I’ve lived in many cities… I’ve never experienced things to this extent and if I find a better way to put that feeling into words I’ll write another review because I don’t want to give a skewed view but the culture living here is unlike anything I’ve experienced.
Posted: February 29, 2024As long as you’re not at the wrong place at a late hour you should be okay. Stick to tourist areas and don’t venture off alone to different part of neighborhood cities. Miami is a beautiful place but it comes with some risk as any other place.

I had a good time in Miami. It's good for a solo trip and people are generally warm and friendly. Tourist areas seemed safe. If you venture to other areas be vigilant. There are buses and free metro lines that connect major areas. It's easy to get around without renting a car. I stayed in a hostel in South Beach and loved it. If you speak Spanish you will be right at home, most locals are fluent in English. Little Havana and Wynwood were my favorite areas. Little Havana is super lively and fun. Balls & Chain, Cubaocho Museum were my favorites. Wynwood has amazing murals all over the neighborhood. South Pointe in South Beach has amazing sunset views. The sightseeing sunset cruise is also fun and I recommend it.

I felt pretty safe in Miami, although there were some weird people at the club. Knowing how to hold your own is essential and keeping small self-defense devices on you. As a girl, you will get into the clubs for free with a promoter, but some of them are weird.

Hey there! I'm an SEO analyst by day, mango thief by night 😇 In my free time, I write poetry, play air hockey, and eat mangoes by the dozens (of course). On weekends, you can probably catch me at the ballet or arcade. I love late nights dancing or drinking wine on the couch! Current Friday night plans? Rewatch all the Terrifier movies 🎥
