Denver is relatively safe. I’d say if you drive in Denver you’ll be fine. Staying out too late could be a problem, but really only on public transportation. I’ve always felt safe going out with friends, though.
Posted: October 16, 2024For a big city it is easy to get from place to place on my own almost always feeling safe. My recommendation would be to always research the part of Denver you are traveling to, some are safer than others.
Posted: August 21, 2024Overall I feel very safe around Denver, especially in the more touristy areas. Rino, lodo, and lohi are all very well lit and walkable. I used to live in Rino, and sometimes the homeless people down there gave me issues (cat calling, one time a guy threw rocks at me while I was walking my dog at 3pm) but it is usually easy to avoid those situations as long as you are aware!
Posted: August 13, 2024I believe Denver is relatively safe for a big city in the US. As with any big city in the US, I think it’s important to stay vigilant and be aware of your surroundings. Car break-in’s are very common in Denver so do not leave your belongings in your car.
Posted: June 27, 2024Depends on what part of denver you are in. Downtown denver not very safe. Suburbs kind of safe. I would say denver overall is not the safest. Lots of homeless. Going to the mountain towns very nice.
Posted: June 24, 2024Denver is fairly safe depending on which part you are in. I feel okay walking alone at night in well lit areas near downtown. I don't walk alone at night at parks or darker areas. There has been gang shootings really close to my house (not for a few years those people got arrested). Also, downtown in Lodo there are sometimes late night shootings near all the really intense bars. I get harassed on the street sometimes, cat calling but that also unfortunately happens in many cities. That said, just be cautious like any other city.
Posted: June 24, 2024During the day I feel safe, but I wouldn’t walk around by myself at night for sure. Public transport is a bit iffy, and I know lots of folks who will warn you about making sure you lock up at night. I also get campus safety alerts a lot at DU,
Posted: June 8, 2024Denver is relatively safe in the the sense that crime is not high here, people mind their own business and go about their days. There’s a lot of homeless people but honestly they are also very chill and mind their own business, yes they tweak but they don’t attack people. There’s always security/police everywhere, especially in the areas that are mostly visited like clubs/bars etc.
Posted: May 17, 2024I mainly went to Arapaho National Forest to summit my first 14er! It was definitely a risk so for anyone looking to summit a 14er, I highly recommend later in the summer as the weather won't be as volatile. Otherwise, Denver as a city was a blast if you love beer and nature! Fun breweries are all throughout the city, as well as since pretty neat coffee shops!
