Is Denver safe for solo female travelers?

Denver, is generally safe for solo female travelers. Like any other big city, there is crime, but neighborhoods popular with tourists are usually safe. The city is clean, locals are generally friendly and helpful, and there is reliable public transportation. As always, normal precautions like being aware of your surroundings at night and not flashing expensive possessions should be taken.

How safe is Denver for solo female travelers?

Solo travel

I mainly went to Arapaho National Forest to summit my first 14er! It was definitely a risk so for anyone looking to summit a 14er, I highly recommend later in the summer as the weather won't be as volatile. Otherwise, Denver as a city was a blast if you love beer and nature! Fun breweries are all throughout the city, as well as since pretty neat coffee shops!

Denver is safe enough when youre out and about with others, but the nightlife scene can be a little sketchy, especially when youre alone. I think solo travelers should avoid hanging out on/around Colfax and the Capitol building until you get a better idea of what those areas are like, both at night and during the day.

Denver for the most part is fine. Downtown has many hotels, restaurants and music venues, lots of folks all ages out. The train is easy to ride and I’ve never had any issues on a route. I would probably be careful at night if you are alone but that is like many large cities. Locals are friendly and will tell you where to avoid. Ubers are available since you are close to major venues.

Denver is safe as long as you use common sense. Don’t walk alone at night. Be aware of your surroundings. There are certain areas to avoid and homelessness is a big problem, but overall, I feel safe living here!

About me

Hello! I’ll be 21 this year. I’m a huge foodie! I am a junior at the university of Denver, studying Hospitality, Criminology, and Business. I just came back from a semester in Scotland! About me

Hi! I WFH with my husband, so I’m always looking to get out more and expand my social circle. I love making new connections, creating memorable experiences, and adventuring local and abroad. I’ve always had an easy time making friends while traveling, especially when it’s a solo trip, although I usually travel with my husband, and we’re hoping to make more couple friends too. Currently I am trying to learn some French since I work at a French company. Bonjour!
