How safe is Denver for female travelers?

Solo travel

I mainly went to Arapaho National Forest to summit my first 14er! It was definitely a risk so for anyone looking to summit a 14er, I highly recommend later in the summer as the weather won't be as volatile. Otherwise, Denver as a city was a blast if you love beer and nature! Fun breweries are all throughout the city, as well as since pretty neat coffee shops!

Denver for the most part is fine. Downtown has many hotels, restaurants and music venues, lots of folks all ages out. The train is easy to ride and I’ve never had any issues on a route. I would probably be careful at night if you are alone but that is like many large cities. Locals are friendly and will tell you where to avoid. Ubers are available since you are close to major venues.

Denver is safe as long as you use common sense. Don’t walk alone at night. Be aware of your surroundings. There are certain areas to avoid and homelessness is a big problem, but overall, I feel safe living here!

Recent stabbings have made me more scared about walking late at night. Overall it’s not too bad but people will definitely harass you and follow you sometimes. There’s a large homeless population so there’s needles everywhere.

I worry more about my property being taken for vandalized. Although, there have been recent physical attacks on strangers. I would recommend being aware of surroundings when alone or even with others. There are certain neighborhoods to avoid and fun places that aren’t downtown. Downtown has homeless and drug addicts, it’s worse than imagined.

Some areas of Denver are very nice and safe. Some are dangerous and unsafe. It's important to know where to go in the city. Otherwise, Denver is a really cool City filled with lots of artistic attractions.
