Thun is a very safe city. Especially as a woman I've barely ever been harassed. Nevertheless you never know what might happen. That's why I'd be more cautious at night. There are the usual people who drink excessively and take hard drugs, but they are usually calm and don't bother the people around them. When it comes to appropriate clothing, while going for a "Aareschwumm" it's even normal to walk through the city in bathingclothes. So don't wonder wonder if you see people walking past you in their bikinis and trunks and maybe go for a swimm yourself :)
