Is Geneva Safe for Women?

The city overall is very safe, especially in the center and near the lake. I would recommend tho to pay attention when you go a little further away, because many areas are really empty and so at night it can be dangerous.

Geneva is a safe city for women, I live in the center of Geneva, knwon for its nightlife, prostitutes and drug dealers (because yes there are!)) and I'm not worried to go out at night, even at 2 am, but I'm always aware of my surroundings and avoid some places that might seem unsafe (ex: empty parc by night or very dark street).

Geneva is one of the safest places I’ve lived in. I have walked home at 1am with no problems at all. You don’t need to hide your phone from snatchers like in London. Never had any issues. People are generally super friendly and always looking to help

Geneva feels like a safe city to me. I don’t usually feel scared, even when walking alone, though I’m a bit more cautious if it’s very late. Overall, I feel comfortable here, but like anywhere, I adjust how I move depending on the time and place.

Very safe except if you go in dangerous part of the town but even there it's globally ok. Sometimes it's a bit empty like in the public transport but I have never felt in danger. I live in Genève since 17 year and have never experienced worse tings than men looks or comments

Family travel

Geneva is lovely. I felt pretty safe there, everyone was just minding their own business. Everything is quite expensive. There are lots of things to do, many luxury shops, you can walk/cycle around the Léman lake... I recommend the Botanical Garden of Geneva, which is amazing and 100% free!
