Geneva Is safe but it’s a bigger city and Switzerland and it’s touristic so must be careful with valuable things if you have a lot of money Just to be careful when you are a women and it’s the middle of the night

To me Geneva is very safe, but as a lady I always look out at night but definitely not more than somewhere else! There are some places such as the main train station where I don’t like to be alone at night, but for the most I feel very safe.
Posted: February 2, 2025I am quite new here and still getting to know the city. But if I need to be out in the dark in any part of the city, I have not and will likely never think twice. Truly lives to its name of International Geneva.
Posted: January 18, 2025Geneva is very safe, there are parts of the town that are safer but it's generally very safe. It's a bit more dangerous around the train station and when we get closer to Annemasse (France) too. We often see the police even at night. The public transport does not work between 2 and 4 A.M.
Posted: January 17, 2025Geneva is a city where safety is a constant. Even walking home late at night through areas some might consider “sketchy,” I’ve never felt harassed, threatened, or worried about theft. It’s truly reassuring.
Posted: December 30, 2024Geneva is a city where it's nice to live. You can walk by yourself at anytime. Of course if you are close to the main train station by night and alone, you can see people which can make you unconfortable, but there is always someone in the near to feel you safe (security guard, police or just locals)

Honestly Geneva is a very rich and safe Area, cameras everywhere and you can't go out without seeing once the police, but shit happens everywhere all the time so we gotta always be careful. Although yes it's pretty safe
Posted: December 24, 2024Geneva is a very safe city. I have never felt in danger. The police often patrol and it is not a very big city. You have nothing to fear. Afterwards, as everywhere on public transport, you have to be careful with your valuables, because there may be thefts, but I have always grown up here and it has never happened to me.
Posted: December 24, 2024It is a very calm city. There are a few drunk people in the city center (Plainpalais square or at the train station), but I’ve only heard once about someone being punched in the face by one of them. I’ve never heard of anyone being mugged or robbed in their own house. Most of the time I feel super safe walking home alone in the middle of the night, it only happened once that a drunk guy followed me (just for a few seconds tho). Even though the city is pretty safe, it’s better to be safe than sorry, an association from university created a WhatsApp group that you can text to or call when walking home alone if you feel unsafe.

One of the safest capitals in Europe, however petty crime does happen on occasion. Other parts of the country are safer. You need to stay vigilant because people will not help you if something happens in public.

Tip stay in france at the border. Annemasse is pretty close to geneva by tram and also by train. We used the tram. Restaurents and supermarkets are much cheaper. I love the botanical garden at geneva.

Egypt
Genava is my Hub, as far as I'm using easyjet (whuch is the cheapest one to fly from Egypt. I used to fly to GVA since August 1999 and I stayed there for the last 7 years as a UN accredited correspondant for Al-Ahram daily news paper. I have many friends there and I used to stay in their houses before heading to my destination in Europe.

Life is a mystery, an experience to be lived, an adventure not to be missed. I consider myself as a quite curious and adventurous person. Always learning.
