It’s one of the safest cities in Europe. The area close to the train station maybe less safe, specially at night. There is a lot of tourism and the city center feels safe. Public transport in Switzerland is really good.

Bern is one of the safest place on earth. The only thing can happen is pick pockets. About toxic maskulinity we habe to clear: you need to watch your drinks and how you engage in men. Just as in other contries in EU.

Bern is safe if you know where to be careful. There are places where you shouldn’t go alone, but overall it’s pretty safe. I‘ve experienced situations, where crazy people try to speak to you but it never got out of hand.

Bern is a safe city. I generally am not that scared to walk around alone and do things on my own. There are a few strange people like anywhere in the world but they generally aren't dangerous and leave you alone.

I feel safe in Bern but try to avoid certain areas at night on weekends. Areas where there’s likely a lot of drunk people etc. but that‘s just out of precaution, not because I experienced anything bad ever.

Bern is a medium-sized city dor Switzerland with approx. 300k citizens. There is definitely some small crime going on like tagging or weed dealers but there is no obvious crime syndicates. Bern is so safe that I can go out by myself any time of the day and feel confident that no matter where I am, I'm pretty save.

Bern is quite safe. It is a big city (for Switzerland), but doesn't really have sketchy areas. There is a low crime rate and I usually feel safe walking around at night. Even at the train station. I've been living there for soon two years and never felt unsafe.

You can walk around alone after dark. There are some weird people in the center of the city or in the public transport, but usually they don't notice you. Men speak to you way less than in other countries. Clubbing is also quite safe, but look at your drink, there habe been stories where they poot sedatives in your drink.

I think its quite safe. Oc we also have some homeless people and sometimes some creaps around but this mainly at the trainstation. Over all in Bern i fell save even in the dark. No bad things or else happened to me since i life there

Bern, or Switzerland in general, is very safe! No problem exploring the city as a woman by yourself :) public transport is also very reliable and safe. Of course don't just leave your valuables unattended but other than that no worries!

Solo travel

In general, the city is pretty safe. However, please do take care of yourself and your belongings at the train stations. It seems to be the main place where the drug addicts flock to. I stayed in an Airbnb 20mins away from the train station and I’m still exploring the city. People are generally nice here as well.

I visited Bern for the 4th time and it was wonderful as ussual, I had very nice weather so I walked around mostly. I felt very safe walking by myself. You should see the bear park and walk around if you can and eat some michelin star delicious sweets near there. The old city is wonderful to walk around too, you have shops there as well. Visit Thun the city and the lake if you have the time. Also trains and trams are very reliable so use that. Everything is pretty expensive so preapre yourself.
