It is safe until a certain time. After that, I avoid any public places like parks or public transport. In a larger group, I feel safer. I don't do much alone at night.

People are friendly and it is a safe place for women to travel alone. From what I hear, the drug consumption is quite high compared to other European cities - however, it is not something that I have noticed or been exposed to.
Posted: January 20, 2025My friends living here nearby and we walke at night back to our apartments or use vehicles. I grow up in Basel and for me Dornach is a safe place. I have no problems with stoling when i order something and no problems with stranger. its a quiet place and far but also near to basel city.
Posted: January 20, 2025It’s relative safe in Basel but at night i would be careful. I live here and I’m scared at night when I’m alone at night. At Daytime it’s totally fine. Local transport is easy and totally safe.
Posted: January 20, 2025zürich is a really safe city. there are a lot of people everywhere and even alone in the dark i don‘t feel unsafe. the public transport is really well managed and at night and on the weekends there is security keeping their eyes out. crimes rarely happen and i zürich is the country where i feel safest
Posted: January 19, 2025It's really a town and everybody knows everyone. So there is basically no crime. Especially where we live there are only farmers around and it's really safe. And when you arrive late at the trainstation in Wattwil I will pick you up of course.
Posted: January 19, 2025I think you can classify Zurich as pretty safe. There are places where, as a woman, you shouldn't walk alone at night, for example “Langstrasse”. But unfortunately, as a woman, you're always on the lookout for creepy men, especially at night. But Zurich is very beautiful, there are many large parks near the lake.
Posted: January 19, 2025Basel is a very safe city where trams run until late in the morning, always with guards on. During the night there is also a lot of police cars driving around the main club/bar area. The danger is close to the river and the port during night: I suggest to always stays in the most popular spaces if you are a girl alone at night.
Posted: January 18, 2025I am quite new here and still getting to know the city. But if I need to be out in the dark in any part of the city, I have not and will likely never think twice. Truly lives to its name of International Geneva.
Posted: January 18, 2025Very very safe but people can be evil anywhere, I have heard stories from close ones and also experienced myself some worrying things. My home was robbed and my phone too, maybe it was my fault I felt too safe and comfortable here, when in reality you should trust no one.

I immediately fell in love with this country right when we arrived. Its beauty and charm is like nothing else, and I felt at home no matter what city we travelled to. The food is so fresh and local that it’s almost always worth the 30 franks!

Ukraine
I had a brief but memorable stop in Lucerne for about 3-4 hours during my trip. I spent most of the time walking around the city, enjoying the beautiful scenery. We had a snack by the river (highly recommend it, though it’s a bit pricey—well, that’s Switzerland for you). I also tried some ice cream, and I still remember how one scoop cost 4 euros! For me, that’s a huge difference, since in Ukraine, 4 euros could buy you 4-6 scoops. However, the scoop was as big as my fist, and it was delicious! We also took a stroll to the famous flower-covered bridge, listened to some musicians, and then headed to another city. Lucerne left a stronger impression on me than Zurich. The people were friendly, even the tourists (unlike in Zurich, where I didn’t feel as comfortable with the younger crowd).
