Bern is a very safe place. During the day, you don’t have to be afraid at all. Only at night, I would avoid the Bollwerk/Schützenmatt area. But even in the city center, it’s not really a problem at night. Sometimes, there are people asking for money, but you just need to say you don’t have any cash and they’ll leave without another word.

As all of the places in Switzerland, the Canton of Aargau is very safe. If your door doesn‘t directly face the street it‘s even safe to leave the door unlocked all the time. You can safely use public transport and walk around on your own.
Posted: May 15, 2025Glarus is a small town located one hour from zuric. It’s very safe to hang out there even if you are a women and travel alone. Be careful at the train station at night and in the park. Most of the time nothing happen there but I would you recommend don’t spent a lot of time there in the dark.

Lugano is a so safe place, it looks like Milan but it's much more safe, u don't have to worry about getting robbed or anything, u can leave the door of ur house open and nothing will happen probably 🎀💛
Posted: May 14, 2025Extremely safe but still need to be vigilant. I’ve lived in the area for many years and never had a problem or felt unsafe around here. I’ve never been catcalled or felt like a man would hurt me. I’ve never had anything stolen from me.

The people are very nice and friendly. I would say, it is very safe. I have lived in Winterthur my whole life and nothing bad happend to me during this time. I always drove with my bicycle to the city and back when I was going out, and it was no problem at all.
Posted: May 9, 2025Geneva doesn't have a lot of bad/unsafe neighbourhood, especially on the left side. The only not so well known would be around Pâquis/Charmilles and out of the city, but these places are still quite calm. Unfortunately, the amount of drug addicts walking publicly is rising, which would be my highest worry. Overall, I'd say it's more than quite safe.

I was born and raised in Budapest. Compared to that this place is like a retirement home 😹 I feel very safe, no matter where I am. People are respectful and don’t really care about what you wear. Of course there will be judgy elders but other than that its very safe.
Posted: May 7, 2025Generally Zurich is extremely safe. Of course there are places where you might prefer to not walk around at night alone as a women (certain places around the main train station, also Langstrasse) but even there it is very unlikely that something serious happens. If, then it should most probably only be someone strange that tries to talk to you, but normally it should not be too hard to escape the conversation. If something strange happens, try to get help from Swiss people, even though they are reserved, they are very friendly and will most probably help you to feel safe and not alone.

New year in Switzerland. I and two of my friends joined an open trip to Switzerland and it was such a winter wonderland! Everywhere you see is white and people were walking around with their ski gears. Although not as clear as in the summertime, the Aare river was also pretty and becoming a contrast with the surrounding area. We went to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald which are breathtaking in its own way. For the food, it is costly so I recommend a supermarket visit like Coop. They have delicious line of ready-made like chicken (!!), salad etc.
Posted: May 14, 2025I felt safe, but everything was really expensive and quite out of my reach. I liked the city even if it rained a little, and liked the people I met there. The only problem is that there is not much nightlife.

I‘m currently bikepacking through Europe (Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia & Croatia). I‘ll be staying in different cities for a few nights and hope to meet new people there & maybe drink a coffee, grab something to eat or explore the citiy with them :).

My name is Ségolène and I am french-dutch girl who, obviously, loves travelling and discovering new things. I am very sociable, but not too energetic either, let's say I know when to be both. I'd happy to get to meet new people on this app which I find genius! Feel free to send me a text here or on insta :)
