I feel very safe, as you have transport officers pretty much always around and police close by. Nevertheless, I would recommend to stay away from poorly lit areas late at night, and stay aware in busy areas!
Posted: December 4, 2024The town is pretty safe but you should be aware while waiting at or passing by the train station in the evening or during the night. Sometimes there are groups of guys waiting to treat you bad. Stay safe.

I life in the middle of the city. And i feel the most time very safe! Of course there could be something.. but i feel 99% very safe in this city! There are some places i do not like to go in the middle of weekend-nights.. when people are drunk or having other drugs in the body. But i think, you would now, when you have to go.

It’s not what it was used to be decades ago when I first moved to Lausanne 35 years ago, but I’m still feeling ok to walk back home. Switzerland is still safer than most other countries even so it changed over time.
Posted: October 24, 2024Geneva is very safe as we iften see patrols at night all over the city and they are very responsive. I am always at peace and even go for nightwalks by myself sometime in the week because I feel safe. I run at 5am as well

Baden is a very safe city, there are very few weird people at night, like everywhere else. But overall, I always feel very very safe! As a woman I walk 1hour home alone after a night out. Some catcalling might happen if you get unlucky.
Posted: October 15, 2024Interlaken is a very safe city, also for female solo travelers! :) also public transport is very convenient and safe! Of course never leave your valuables unattended but other than that no worries :)
Posted: October 15, 2024Bern, or Switzerland in general, is very safe! No problem exploring the city as a woman by yourself :) public transport is also very reliable and safe. Of course don't just leave your valuables unattended but other than that no worries!

Zurich is generally a safe city – even for solo female travelers! There are a few areas that women might want to avoid, although nothing necessarily has to happen there: Langstrasse: This is a famous street in Zurich with a very active nightlife – probably one of the busiest throughout the week in the city. It’s known for good bars but also for drugs and prostitution. While it's lively, women should avoid walking around alone. Some unpleasant comments may certainly arise. Train stations: Zurich's main station has a lot of people around. However, women should avoid smaller stations. In general, there aren’t many people out at night during the week, but it doesn’t give an unsafe feeling.

I had a chance to travel to Switzerland over summer and it was amazing! I felt very safe, there was never any problems. The people were incredibly nice and welcoming. I highly recommend going up Mount Titlis, as well as Mount Pilatus, the views were truly breathtaking. I’m vegan and Switzerland is known for being a heavy meat country however i didn’t have problems to find vegan options in big cities like Zurich or Lucerne and was actually surprised by all the plant based options at the supermarkets. To get around i used only the trains, i got a travel pass which was very useful however really expensive like everything else in Switzerland😅
Posted: November 17, 2024Switzerland is such a nice and beautiful place, I am very happy and grateful to be able to visit. Nature is amazing, lake, forest, many beautiful meetings, people. Transport can be expensive, need to plan well your trip with that. Definitely recommend this gorgeous country!

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’ve always loved travelling and recently discovered the joy of solo travelling. A few years ago, I lived in Auckland, New Zealand for a year and then travelled around the world for 14 months. Since April 2024, I’m travelling around Europe in my camper van while working remotely until at least the end of 2025. My plan is to visit Ireland, Norway, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.
