Switzerland is really safe as far as I know. Nothing ever happend to me but I‘m mostly with my friends or family espesialy when it‘s dark. I‘m scared to walk alone but that‘s the case in every country besides the mountains at home.
Posted: March 21, 2025Quite safe, haven't experienced incidents that have made me unsafe. I would avoid Grottes (drug peddlers), Paquis(red light area) and the area around the station at night if you're alone, it's a bit shady.
Posted: March 19, 2025Sursee is a small town which I consider to be very save. There are barely any crimes being reported in this part of Switzerland. I do recommend walking in the areas with more houses if you don’t feel comfortable in the dark.
Posted: March 17, 2025It is a pretty safe place to be. The people are friendly and will help you. Sometimes at night some drunk people are walking around at the trainstation butbif you ignore them and just wait at the designated place for your bus, they'll mind their own buissnes.
Posted: March 16, 2025Like in every city it is better to be precautious and not walk around alone in certain places when it gets dark. There are some areas where you might feel a bit more uncomfortable in the evening but overall I consider Bern a safe city.
Posted: March 15, 2025I feel safe in Zurich and I think it's easy to get around especially with the public transport and they are connected to a lot of places (even a bit more rural destination. Even tho the people might seem a bit distant but I don't think it's a huge problem, but then again I might have a better point of view since I 1. speak the language and 2. know my way around Zurich. But generally speaking it's super safe and beautiful!
Posted: March 13, 2025thurgau is very safe, bit in the evening sometimes it gets a bit scray, esspevialy at the weekend if you are taking the night train or bus by yourself. you get used to it after a while but it‘s still better to travel with your friends.

Geneva is one of the safest cities I’ve ever been to. I saw homeless people maybe twice for 6 months. I felt completely safe when I had to travel during the night time from the train station to my house.
Posted: March 12, 2025I feel safe in Bern in general. Around the main train station and around Reitschule I‘ve experienced slight feelings of unease when being alone at night, but to me nothing has ever happened. Otherwise ask other people for assistance <3

Locarno is super safe, I often walk alone in the dark, never felt particularly in danger. I've lived here since childhood and in the years I've heard some stories (like maybe 2) about assaults, particularly on women, but I guess it is just because nowhere is paradise, and compared to the many years I've been here, you still have to be prudent in general. Public transport is very safe and controlled, but also you can't find it till late in the night, so it can happen you have to walk. I've always enjoyed my night walks anyway. In the streets catcalling happens, and at parties or in the crowded bars in the summer I've experienced some unpleasant situations, but nothing you couldn't find everywhere else.

Definitely do a hike to Trummelbach - it's flat valley floor with stunning landscape! Consider going up to Murren valley. There's a cable car that starts from there to Schilthorn. Visit the Stubbach falls right next to the station
Posted: March 19, 2025Experienced: January, 2025Lausanne is a clean and safe but unnecessarily expensive city. There are a couple museums that are free (or cheap) for people under 25 so it makes up for the cost of living ! I would recommend the Rumine Palace.

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’ve always loved travelling and recently discovered the joy of solo travelling. A few years ago, I lived in Auckland, New Zealand for a year and then travelled around the world for 14 months. Since April 2024, I’m travelling around Europe in my camper van while working remotely until at least the end of 2025. My plan is to visit Ireland, Norway, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.

Hi girls! Same as you, traveling is one of my biggest passions. I was born in Colombia and have spent most of my life in Europe. Besides traveling I love cinema, hiking, arts, cooking and meditation. Don’t hesitate to contact me in case you are in Zurich or around💓
