It was pretty great, we was at my family’s house so not in the Center The weathers was sunny, the beach was amazing and there was pretty much things to do just it’s really easier with a car and it’s expensive
Posted: January 8, 2026Nee Jersey was gorgeous in the summertime. I love that this state has downtown areas, suburbs, beaches, mountains, and lush greenery. You can really customize your experience based on what scenery you’d like to see if you research the city you’re visiting and the surrounding areas.

Beautiful trip! I spent most of my time in Colorado Springs where I stayed at a hostel with 5 others from around the country. Colorado Springs was full of peaceful nature vibes, challenging hikes & climbs, and unique boutique shops. I loved it there!
Posted: December 25, 2025Gorgeous, large city with amazing food and cultures. I have been to Chicago twice - once during the winter (absolutely gorgeous white Christmas experience) and the other time during the summer (beautiful weather and atmosphere).

I stayed downtown and stuck to public transportation, which always felt very safe. I know there's a stereotype that people in Seattle aren't super friendly, but the overall vibe was on par with what I've experienced in other big US cities.

I’ve personally never had anyone truly bug me, but you do need to walk quickly and keep your wits about! I don’t go out at night, to places I’m unfamiliar with, or linger in my car for too long, or leave valuables out. My car got stolen the first week I lived here, so be careful!
Posted: January 10, 2026I am always out and about by myself in San Francisco and rarely feel unsafe. There's the occasional mentally unstable person you encounter, but as long as you mind your own business and be aware of your surroundings as usual, you'll be completely fine and safe.
Posted: January 9, 2026Florida is a very calm state. There is not a lot of aggression and most touristy spots are in good areas. I think some places in Miami and more of the ghetto is a bit sketchy, but I think Florida is safe and relaxed. However it’s always good to be cautious specifically at night and especially in parking lots.
Posted: January 9, 2026During the day I have yet to experience a violent crime. My bad experiences have included catcalling when taking public transportation and uncomfortable run ins with unhoused locals. We are notorious for bad drivers as well. Overall, if you stay in lively areas you should be fine even as a solo traveler.

Love DC especially for solo trips! There s plenty of things to do! You would not get bored! It needed, dont hesitate to Uber home at night, it s usually quite cheap, otherwise if you re staying in the city center it s pretty safe and people are always out!

Durham

I love my city! I have been to over 29 different countries so I am well traveled. Durham is great because it blends intellect, creativity, and authenticity in a way few mid-sized cities manage. Anchored by Duke University and the Research Triangle, it attracts smart, curious people without feeling elitist. The food scene is nationally recognized yet still approachable, driven by chefs who experiment and stay rooted in the community. Durham’s arts and music culture feels lived-in, not performative, with murals, festivals, and local venues shaping daily life. Its Black history and civil rights legacy are visible and honored, giving the city depth and perspective. Nature is never far away, with trails, rivers, and forests minutes from downtown. The city is social and fun without being overwhelming, from Bulls games to DPAC shows to neighborhood farmers markets. Durham values individuality and weirdness, which fuels its reputation as “Little Portland” without copying anyone else. It’s a place where startups, nonprofits, artists, and families genuinely coexist. Most of all, Durham feels real—welcoming, evolving, and confident in exactly what it is.

Hello! I am Josie Shadbolt (23) and I’m from Nebraska USA! I love travel and want to go everywhere, my main focus right now is Asia and I absolutely love Japan! I’m currently learning Japanese and would love someone to help me learn. My family owns and runs a cow/calf operation here in the Sandhills of Nebraska. We are proud horsemen/women and have amazing landscape views. I would recommend seeing small town rural USA, it’s often overlooked and I think that’s such a shame! Anyone who would be interested in seeing it for yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out. :)

Hey! Just looking to connect with folks for any future travel or making friends! I do some solo trips because I can’t wait for life to live and I’ve typically gone for hostels, but I’m excited to be here on this app now for potential connections in those travels either for meet ups or to be hosted! I can host folks as well :) I’m a free spirit and thrive off of “organized chaos,” spontaneity, and deep connection! A queer and neurodivergent social worker so can provide a safe space for all
