Awsome culture I love the people. The Island is always going to provide you with kindness if you respect it. Make sure to stick with ‘Ohana and respect the rules and the elders. If you travel alone accomodation is really expensive so make sure you check ahead of time, meet people, make friends and you will for sure find people that are alike that can help you figure it out! Being kind and respectful is most important!

Super fun and safe. Recommend the ice cream. Great first solo trip. Stayed right by Waikiki beach and was able to safely walk everywhere at all times. Did several excursions will say it’s a lil expensive but overall so worth it.
Posted: June 8, 2026Great experience, very beautiful. Felt very safe especially in Waikīkī where I stayed. Very busy, but that was a bit welcome to a new traveler. Stayed at Honu by ALOH hostel - very nice place, not a great location mostly because of very difficult parking. Please be mindful of parking signs and towing signs - they will tow! Everything is expensive - but going on tours and diving cage less with sharks was the best thing I did!

I had an epic experience with One Ocean Diving in Oahu, Hawaii. Ocean Ramsey & Juan Shark are the perfect people to conquer this potential fear with or live out a dream. Sharks used to be a fear of mine and as a professional Stunt woman, it's my nature to push my limits like this. One Ocean Diving are educational and offer a cage free dive with safety divers. I paid the extra fee and had a photographer join us. (They offer this) So you can enjoy your experience and not worry about...
Posted: March 15, 2025Oahu is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Highly recommend Turtle Bay Resort. I felt very safe at all times and there is plenty to do. Paia Fish Market is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to
Posted: November 23, 2023Oahu was my first solo trip. There was no place where I felt unsafe. Even when returning to my hostel after the bar closed, I got lost for two hours. Yet, no one bothered me. I recommend visiting the karaoke bar Wang Chung's. It's this strange hotel bar that surprisingly is filled with local residents and has a Kill Bill movie theme, owned by a Japanese businessman. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
