Very safe overall, it’s just that one park I wouldn’t go there, if you have to walk by just walk on the other side of the road and you’ll honestly be fine. I used to go by a lot because there used to be a cat cafe on the other corner and there’s just weird people
Posted: August 13, 2026Really safe. It’s a student city because of the university campus. Lots of young people and not much crime. There’s so much beautiful things to see and fairly accessible for women. No real issues about safety in my opinion

Overall very safe town. I find that the streets aren't well lit at night, but it makes me more scared about cars/drivers not seeing me than someone actually trying to harm me. It's mostly a student town, so the downtown area is always somewhat busy.
Posted: August 20, 2025About 25% of the community in Sherbrooke are students. Being myself a student, I have been living here for 3 years already. There is a really great feeling of community here and people are very welcoming. I have always felt very safe in this city during the day and at night. My friends/acquaintances and I have never experienced any kind of assault or felt unsafe here.
Posted: March 7, 2025Sherbrooke is a very safe place, a lot of students live here! You can walk as a solo female here, even at night! Public transportation is also very safe, people are kind and I have never felt in danger here!

It's pretty safe, but I still wouldn't recommend walking alone at night! However, I've never been robbed or attacked, and I don't mind if I don't lock my door before leaving my apartment!
