Solo travel

Overall, it was a wonderful experience . I feel safe in Winnipeg. The people there are friendly. Things are cheaper comparing with other cities in Canada. I met a lot of friends during my working holiday.

Winnipeg is a safe town full of wonderful people. I felt safe here and I recommend a solo travel here. People are wonderful and happy to help out foreigners. I’d love to come back cause I made some friends over here. If you walk alone no one will bother you which is great!

Is Winnipeg safe for women?

Safety index

2.3 /5

Crime index

2.2 /5

Based on 5 local experiences

Winnipeg, like most places, is safe if you are in well lit areas and keep your wits about you (not being drunk solo, not being in areas you're unfamiliar with). If you are just stopping in for a visit I'd suggest checking out the Corydon area.

Not so safe if you find yourself in very sketchy areas. One can still go out at night but just be very vigilant. I would say it could be a hit or a miss depending on the part of city you go to and ofcourse time of day.
