Safety overview

Safety at night:Safe

Rimini as a whole has an ambiance that solicits safety. It's well-lit, busy with tourists, and has a constant police presence. As with any city, it's important to be aware of your surroundings, particularly at night. That being said, it's generally safe for solo female travelers to walk around alone at night in busy areas. Beware of less crowded streets and always keep your belongings close to you. An important note: Italy has a very social culture, so nighttime can be fairly energetic and bustling in the city center.

Public transportation: Safe

Public transportation in Rimini is quite reliable with a comprehensive network of buses, trams, and trains, and it is generally safe to use even at night. The bus and train systems can get crowded during peak hours and during the summer when the city is a favorite tourist destination, but incidents of pickpocketing or other petty crimes are relatively low. Nonetheless, as always, it's important to stay alert and keep an eye on your belongings.

Street harassment: Low

Although Rimini is generally a safe place for female solo travelers, occasional cases of unwarranted attention can occur, mainly in the form of verbal comments. However, this is not a daily occurrence and most of the locals are very respectful. It is always advisable to maintain the usual precautions when exploring the city.

Petty crimes:Low

Rimini generally holds a reputation as a safe destination for travelers. Petty crimes like pickpocketing and purse snatching are relatively low compared to other popular tourist cities. However, it's always advisable to practice normal precautions, such as not leaving your belongings unattended and being aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas and public transport.

Tap water:Very safe

In Rimini, the tap water is incredibly safe to drink and it adheres to strict European Union guidelines. The water is well-treated and regularly tested to ensure its high quality. So, feel free to fill up your water bottle directly from the tap without worry.
