Beroun is considered one of the safest cities in Europe. I feel comfortable walking alone in the evening. There are a few places with homeless people, which can feel a bit unsettling, but they rarely approach anyone. You may also see groups of young people having drinks, but they usually don’t try to talk to you. It is common here to keep your belongings with you and not to leave them unattended — for example, on a table when going to the restroom in a restaurant. We also lock our bikes. Public transport is quite clean and safe, and many people use buses and trains. Uber is also available.
Posted: September 9, 2025It's my hometown and I've never seen anything really bad around here. It happens very rarely and the most common crime is burglary, in my opinion, but I've never had anything stolen as well. So I would consider this town a very safe space.

Beroun
Hi, my name is Romča and I am from the Czech Republic. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but I will be going back to work soon. I like to travel; however, opportunities are scarce since I have kids. I would still love to take a trip on my own from time to time to meet new people and explore new destinations. I love hiking, I’m a huge bookworm, and I enjoy visiting bookstores and cafés. I mostly read fantasy and sci-fi books, but anything book-related is very enjoyable for me. I also like crocheting, and I’m trying to learn how not to kill my houseplants. I enjoy one-to-one conversations where we can really dive deep into a topic and share anything. Overall, I think I am more of an introvert, but I still love connecting with other people. You would be staying in your own room in our apartment. We live in a 4+kk flat, and one of the rooms serves as an office. There is an extendable sofa and enough space for your belongings. This room would be exclusively for you during your visit. I have two small kids (3 and 4), so please keep that in mind. Our home can sometimes get a little noisy :) We live about half an hour from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and there are regular buses going there. Beroun itself is a lovely town with a small but pretty center, and it’s a great starting point for bike trips. I am 167 cm tall, so if you are a similar height, I can definitely lend you my bike to explore the surroundings.
