Yes I felt safe. Night life is quite vibrant. But the train is limited until 12.00. That is a challenge. I stayed in a youth hostel bit far from city center. It was a problem to go there after visiting the club.

I lived 1 year in Olomouc, and I moved there alone. I did not speak fluently the language, and I did not know anyone here. But it was the best time of my life : slavic countries are wonderful, and the people are so kind. You'll learn a lot of history and about people, you just have to let the culture in! The landscape are beautiful too!
Posted: February 8, 2024I went there last July. Beautiful city with charming streets, everything can be visited for free, and above all, there are no crowds there. Delicious food and Czech beer at very good prices. I recommend this to everyone for a weekend getaway.

I would say Olomouc definitely is among one of the safer cities, but of course it depends on where are you going and if it’s daylight or night… If you’re not local, I would definitely recommend staying on the main roads and the usual, but it’s definitely not dangerous.

It’s pretty safe city. I would say it’s standard in Czech Republic. Maybe you will experience some cat calling on street but you don’t have to be worried about anything more serious. It’s city with uni so full of young people which makes it better!
