Prague, Solo travel

I felt really safe in Prague. Even though it got dark very early, I enjoyed walking around the city alone in the evenings, even in the less touristy areas. It was super easy to get around using public transport. You just have to remember to stamp your ticket. (;

Soo first things first. Food was good 👍🏻 - But I hab to admit since the famous Christmas market was open, it was very crowded - in the city center you could not even walk through properly. - For my shopping queens 👸 is it a nice destination; not too expensive - watch out for tourist traps - some restaurants in the city center will charge a lot and the food is not even as good. - So if you do your research before the trip, you will have a good and also cultural enriching experience in Prague. 😇

* overall i'd say i felt pretty safe in Prague, but i have to highlight that I went sightseeing mainly during the daytime. my friend who went out during the night had one unpleasant encounter with a creepy guy who tried to hit on her, but luckily this situation did not result in anything dangerous * we used public transport to get around the city and i'd rate it positively. it's accessible, easy to navigate with google maps, and most importantly, quite cheap (for me as a polish person) * TIP: watch out for the restaurants that only accept cash. in my experience, the signs are not always visible and euro exchange rate that was offered to us was not very favourable * as for sightseeing attractions, i visited the royal quarter, Hradčany. we bought tickets that included the entry pass to the castle, two beautiful churches and the Golden Lane. i can definitely recommend visiting * i was also in Franz Kafka Museum and this visit was a great experience. visual design of the museum is stunning and the text were really informative (one problem that i had is the fact that not everything was translated into English - some parts of text were written in German, but there were still plenty of information for English speakers). the place probably wouldn't be fun for someone who is not a fan of Kafka, but for people who are interested in his life or history of literature overall - a great attraction * the last thing i have to say about Prague is that it's a perfectly walkable city, ideal for strolling, both during the day and in the evening. the streets are just straight-up charming, and even though some streets we visited were kinda dirty, the city had a fantastic atmosphere and immaculate vibes 👌

I went to prague with 2 friends to see the christmas market. Its free so very Crowded and expensive (local restaurants not so expensive tho). Its a small city but if you have plenty things to do: see the Castel, try absinthery, hot wine, eat all the local stuff etc. You also have 2 Anonymous bar very Nice and different but you have to book earlier (at least a week). You can do everythingg walking. I felt very safe there. I never felt so cold in my whole life (-10°) so prepare yourself !!

Prague is a very safe city, I felt really comfortable during my trip. Of course, like any touristy place, it’s good to stay alert for pickpockets in busy areas, but other than that, everything was great. Among the must-see spots, I recommend visiting Charles Bridge and enjoying the view of the Vltava River, as well as Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral. The Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock is also a must-see, and Letná Park offers a beautiful view of the city. I’d avoid restaurants too close to Charles Bridge, as they’re expensive and the food isn’t always worth it. Prague’s cuisine is amazing, especially goulash, trdelník, and svíčková. If you want to eat well, go to Lokál Dlouhááá for traditional food or Café Savoy for a delicious breakfast. As for the budget, Prague is pretty affordable. Accommodation costs between €30-€50 per night, and a meal is about €10-€15. Public transport is efficient and costs about €5-€10 per day. In total, about €50-€80 per day is enough to enjoy and explore the city. I stayed at Hotel Botanique, which has a great location and comfortable rooms. Getting around the city is easy; I used the metro and tram a lot, but since the city is compact, it’s also very walkable. One important tip: the transport ticket should be validated ONLY ONCE, and from that time, it’s valid for the duration you selected at the time of purchase. Validating the ticket multiple times, as we do in Paris, will invalidate the ticket and you could get fined. On my itinerary, on the first day, I visited Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Letná Park. On the second day, I went to Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and ended the day with a boat tour. On the third day, I explored the Jewish Quarter and relaxed with a beer at Riegrovy Sady.

Prague, Solo travel

I had a wonderful time in Prague. They have a lot of locals who do tours to less known places in Prague and they were wonderful. I would definitely recommend Ondra and Jakub who do local tours and share great tips for Prague. You can find them on AirBnb. Definitely try to choose restaurants outside of the main square in Old Town, the less touristy, the better. I got scammed in one of the Švejk (famous fictional character in Czech culture) restaurants and the food was worse than horrible. I had the best pizza in Prague in an authentic Italian restaurant. The tiramisu was also excellent. I recommend going up the mountain to the monastery and getting the beer they make on the spot. But also, visit the old library. Kafka and Muccha museums were both great and the prices in Prague were reasonable for me.

I felt really safe in Prague, even by night, me and my friends really enjoyed the city and the contrast between past and future. I surely recommend the city to a solo traveller, because it's pretty cheap (not as much as i expected) and well connected. You mostly pay by card, but remind that some shops accept only cash (rarely). For the most visited places, i recommend booking in advance, as for this reason we couldn't visit the old library. I recommend the Kampa Museum if you love art.♡

I was in Prague before Christmas and the atmosphere was amazing. It was a bit crowded but I think it‘s because of the period that I went. Definitely go to different museums and to the castle. I would not recommend the jellyfish museum - nothing special to see. Prague it’s kind of expensive so prepare bigger budget for this city. There are a lot of good hostels so if you can’t find a hotel in a good price you can definitely find a hostel. We were at hostel exactly at the centre of the city and everything was perfect. Most of the places are very walkable so we almost didn’t use a public transport. For the food if you want to try something traditional definitely go to a restaurant but also if you don’t like it there are also a lot of places for street food.

Prague felt mostly safe, although very crowded! The christmas markets were cool. I stayed in an all women’s hostel that was right in old town and quite nice, would definitely recommend staying there! You will enjoy if you are an architecture buff or enjoy history! I can’t comment on the party scene but I hear that it is also good.

Prague

very safe but it is a capital city - many drunk tourists in the city, especially at night not the best to walk alone as a woman but it also depends on the neighbourhood, overall you don't have to be worried

I live in Prague for 20 years and never had any problem while going outside in the dark. Nobody never stole me anything. But of course, Prague is the capital city and it's possible to feel a little bit uncomfortable when homeless people are drunk.
