Beroun is considered one of the safest cities in Europe. I feel comfortable walking alone in the evening. There are a few places with homeless people, which can feel a bit unsettling, but they rarely approach anyone. You may also see groups of young people having drinks, but they usually don’t try to talk to you. It is common here to keep your belongings with you and not to leave them unattended — for example, on a table when going to the restroom in a restaurant. We also lock our bikes. Public transport is quite clean and safe, and many people use buses and trains. Uber is also available.
Posted: September 9, 2025It's my hometown and I've never seen anything really bad around here. It happens very rarely and the most common crime is burglary, in my opinion, but I've never had anything stolen as well. So I would consider this town a very safe space.
