I attended the German language summer school there, and I absolutely loved it. The city was charming — pleasant in size, not too big, so I felt quite at home. There are plenty of opportunities for wonderful trips in the surrounding area of České Budějovice, such as visiting nearby historical towns, enjoying the beautiful nature, or climbing the city’s iconic Black Tower for a stunning panoramic view.

Living here I feel very safe — I walk out most days with my dog (which helps), but even without him I’m comfortable. Weekend nights can get loud and chaotic around the centre, so if you don’t like nightlife I’d avoid that area on Friday/Saturday. I’ve never had anything stolen and public transport is generally reliable (occasionally late). I’ve been catcalled once or twice over many years, but nothing serious.

If you avoid certain areas I’d say this city (especially the city center) is ver safe. Around the train/bus station it can het a bit dodgy at night, so be careful there. In the bars/pubs you might encounter drunk people (men) that might want to get with you or start a fight with another man.

City with beautiful historic architecture. Best city for students and it offers marvelous culture spots, pubs, clubs. People here and very friendly and open to help at anytime. You don’t have to be worried about finding your place here or your people.

Hi! My name is Vendy and I just recently got into solo traveling. I love exploring new places and cultures! I am in nursing school which limits the time I have for traveling but I try to use every opportunity to explore the world!

Hi! I’m Sara — almost 22 and a to be architecture student. I decided to stop waiting for others and start travelling solo. I’m a beginner solo traveller who loves sketching and painting, visiting small galleries, and learning how different cultures shape everyday life. Travel for me is about trying new experiences, meeting people, and collecting little creative inspirations along the way. I’m tidy, considerate of house rules, and happy to help with light chores, watering plants, mail collection, or caring for pets (with instructions). I enjoy calm evenings sketching or swapping travel stories over a cup — I like tea better (but I’ll sit with you while you drink coffee ;)). I’m happy to share sketches from my travels and to exchange tips or local recommendations. If you want a considerate guest who’s curious, creative and eager to learn — send me a message.
