Is Bergamo safe for female travelers?

I felt safe in the city, we did rent a car for most of the trip and roadtriped through the mountains and slept in the car We rented the sleeping bag from decathlon and were zero cold despite being december. I really loved the winter markets we went but they were small compared to others in europe :)
