Williamsburg is a college town that also caters to tourists and retirees. As long as you follow normal precautions it is very safe. I would avoid leaving valuables clearly visible in cars and if parking in the long-term lot at the train station try to park under the street lights to avoid rare but potential vandalism.
Posted: June 26, 2024Williamsburg is a lovely town. Lots of places to learn history from the museums to the plantations. The night life does end a little early most places but by the college has some good night life. The lakes nearby are also well kept.
Posted: May 16, 2024I feel very safe here. I’ve lived here for 3 years and haven’t had a single incident that made me unsafe! Public transportation is extremely safe and used by most, especially the L train. I do try to stay more alert at night just in case.
