Personally believe upper marlboro is one of the safer areas of Maryland. I was born and raised in Laurel so I know that area better but there are a lot of HOAs here and people looking out for the neighborhood I'm in. At most I would be wary of walking along the side road at night cause of poor driving causing accidents and people lose their dogs from their yard often. Also a few farms so may see a chicken or a pig sometimes.
