Tucson is pretty safe based on my experiences and resident here for a long time now. There are areas of thcson that are more sketchy and unsafe compared to other parts of the city but it's not super bad. Mostly just the city looking like trash and homeless people everywhere. It feels unsafe but I have never had anything happen to me wheel walking in those areas or taking the bus.
