Tampa is a very conservative area in an extremely conservative state. I would worry more for a woman of color than a white woman. There is also no reliable public transportation so you either need a car or have to Uber.

I traveled during winter. It was cold but had the best experience ever. There was no snow but it got chilly on some days. Enjoyed the walks by the bay and the outdoor activities that made my stay enjoyable.
