Physical safety depends on where you are in the city, but it’s generally a pretty safe place. Basic precautions (such as keeping your car locked and retaining awareness while walking) should be enough to protect in most cases. However, sexual harassment is common and occurs everywhere, in my experience. It seems to be worse at night.

It is very safe. How ever, it is a little racist. In the 12 years I’ve lived here I have been hate crimes twice. I was walking downtown when someone yelled the n-word at me as I was crossing the street. Another time I was yelled slurped at and some teenage boys jumped on my car and wrote the n-word on my car.
