It’s family centered and centrally located to great skiing and hiking around this beautiful state. So many people are out walking solo. It’s always good to be street smart no matter where one goes. :)

Orem is a very safe family town. BUT you can encounter problems especially in the queer community. It’s very unlikely you’ll face physical aggression, but verbal comments or looks may happen. The other issue can come when you try to stop advances. If you don’t give any attention to people assault is very unlikely, but once you start saying yes to some attention or affection, sometimes the Utah county boys will push farther and not respect the first no. They assume one yes means more yes’
Posted: July 1, 2025Orem is super safe, I don’t ever feel worried about safety here. I frequently go out on runs and have never had any issues. I’ve lived here my whole life and the only crime I’ve experienced was some cash got taken out of my car that I left unlocked overnight.
