Lancaster is a cute and small city with two colleges. Lots of fun restaurants and stores to check out, especially on the weekends—Central Market is a must. There is a huge Amish community in Lancaster County, the biggest in the world. I grew up in the countryside outside of the city with Amish neighbors and cows running in my backyard every once in a while. Lancaster is generally safe, but kidnappings and murders have happened but it is not common. If you visit Lancaster, trying fresh ice cream from an Amish dairy and soft pretzels should be your priority:)
Posted: August 14, 2024Loved visiting Lancaster, PA. In Pennsylvania, they are well-known for their Amish community, but there is much more to see from great restaurants to theatre and great shopping! We have since gone back many times!
