Kalamazoo does have a prevalent homeless population and a mental health crises. There have been dangerous situations involving individuals from these groups but overall I feel like the town is friendly and even my interactions with some of the homeless have been very positive and I think the dangerous situations are random and not correlated specifically to certain areas.
