Beautiful city. Just like any other city in America, Use common sense and basic safety protocols , be aware of your surroundings and always have a safety plan. Would recommend still for solo or couple traveling
Posted: March 25, 2025Jacksonville is the largest city by land mass in the U.S. with many different communities. The neighborhood I live in is very safe and there are many safe areas. Parts of downtown and surrounding areas can be worrisome but are easily avoidable. Ive also been out at night in downtown with a female friend and we had no issues.

Jacksonville is the largest city in the US by area therefore there are plenty of areas you should avoid however many places are safe enough for a woman to be by herself. Like any medium size city, just be aware of your surroundings and you should be good
