Fort Collins is a very safe city. It's a college town, filled with friendly students who are willing to help out. Low crime, I know lots of people who don't even lock their doors at night. I feel incredibly safe, both day and night.
Posted: May 1, 2025Fort Collins is a college town that feels very much that way and does not have much crime subsequently. You’ll only see an ambulance every now and then, and I’ve never seen police actively doing much.
Posted: December 26, 2024Fort Collins is generally safe overall. Weekends in Old Town can get rowdy. There have been shooting and stabbings mainly among the transient community. Theft, especially bike theft, is higher than average. Vehicle and catalytic converter theft is on the rise. Women should exercise some caution if walking alone in the Old Town area late at night on weekends. Verbal harassment is not uncommon.
Posted: September 22, 2024Nice city! Cost of living is really high so crime and homelessness is becoming a bigger problem. Break ins are unlikely but still possible, package stealing and following possible. College town so it’s typically better when school is in!

Hello! I am a recent college graduate taking some time off to explore Europe this Summer with my girlfriend Mattie! I was born in the US but my family is all from the UK so I’ve had a good chance to explore some regions but nowhere near as many as I would like to… please reach out if you have any recommendations for Spain or France, or if you would be interested in hosting us! We would love to get to meet you!

I'm a student of Middle Eastern Studies at Colorado State University. I spent 3 months living in Meknes, Morocco and got used to traveling solo on the weekends to nearby cities. This fall I'll be in Jordan. I plan on solo tripping several MENA countries in December and January.
