Bozeman is an affluent, educated town centered on tourism and the university. It sees many visitors every year from across the world. Despite the recent growth, the town remains extremely safe and I've never feared walking around town as a single woman at any time. There's more of a chance of you running into a dangerous wild animal (on the trails outside of town) than being attacked by a human in town. The public transportation is limited, which is the only negative.

Bozeman is a very safe town. Crime is very low and it's extremely safe to walk around at night. The only real danger is from bears when hiking alone in the wilderness so bear spray is recommended unless on trails in town
Posted: August 1, 2024I’ve never had any issues or concerns while living the past 8 years in Bozeman. I often walk alone, even at night, and have never had a negative experience. In fact, I frequently leave my car unlocked.
Posted: May 27, 2024Lived in Bozeman for 8 years. Haven't had any safety problems. Pretty safe to walk around downtown at night in pairs. Not a lot of homelessness since it gets so cold in the winter. Winter travel can be very hazardous. People are friendly but aren't particularly open minded towards minorities and LBGTQ.

I grew up in California where I worked for many years doing seasonal jobs in outdoor education and guiding hiking and backpacking trips. I moved to Montana in 2017 and now work as a nurse in the hospital. I spend most of my free time doing outdoor hobbies and adventuring with my husband. I'm especially into biking these days and hope to spend more time going on bike packing adventures.

Hi I'm Roxanne! 👋 I've been a digital nomad for the past year, driving around the US and staying mostly at short term rentals and occasionally camping in my minivan. My background is in Accounting and I'm currently working remotely as a personal finance coach (helping people budget) and have a small blog and YouTube channel. I'm married and have been traveling with him but enjoy traveling more than he does so I'm looking to learn more about solo female travel and meet other travelers. I especially love donuts 🍩, dogs and stand-up comedy.
