How safe is Boulder?

Boulder is a very safe place to explore and recreate as a woman. I do a lot of outdoor things solo and have never felt unsafe. I practice situational awareness everywhere I am and always trust my instincts.

Boulder is a college town and most of the crime is related to alcohol consumption. I have personally never experienced a bad situation walking alone at night but others have, and I always have my guard up. Overall I think Boulder is very safe.
