if you’re living in the downtown area near main street there is lot of homelessness and drug abuse so be aware but it is a college down so a lot of the occupants during the year that go to school are in the same area and occupy the same spaces so it feels relatively safe. i am cautious of walking to and from the bars at night but that is common sense in my opinion. just be aware, especially at night, and you should be okay.
