I regularly walk around alone at all hours of the day wearing whatever I want. I've never been catcalled or felt that my safety was at risk. Around the college campuses I sometimes feel more uncomfortable (especially on weekends), but not unsafe.
Posted: June 26, 2024Amherst is relatively safe, as a college town, there are many young adults out and about. It’s safe to go outside in groups most of the time. The town is very walkable and well-lit; it’s easy to get anywhere and to use the bus to get to the city.
