Is Newcastle-upon-Tyne safe for solo female travelers?

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is generally safe for solo female travelers. The city has a vibrant, friendly atmosphere, and people are known to be welcoming. Petty crimes such as pickpocketing can happen, especially in crowded areas and on public transportation, so vigilance is required, especially at night. Most areas are safe to explore, but like everywhere, there are locations you may want to avoid, particularly at night. Taking usual precautions like not flashing valuable items, walking in well-lit and populated areas after dark should keep you safe. It is always recommended to stay alert and keep aware of your surroundings.

It is a very safe city for single women and girls. Excellent place for nightlife with the best offers for women especially. Will recommend everyone to visit at least o ce while they're in UK. Also will be happy to host!

Geordies are a lovely bunch and extremely helpful. I've never felt in danger when out in town, but there are some areas / neighbourhoods that can be a bit shady. In town, I'd say be careful of drunk beggars - they likely won't do much, but they can be very irritating sometimes.
