It's largely fine, what you'd expect in a standard town centre. If there's some drunken men you might get something said if you're nearby but if you're not paying them any attention then they'll leave you alone in my experience.
Posted: May 27, 2025I find Huddersfield to be pretty safe, however, there are a lot of homeless and a lot of rough and drunk people in the town center. They have never bothered me or made me feel unsafe but maybe because I'm used to it, I can understand how a visitor might be made feel unsafe if it's their first time in town.
