Guildford is not too big, but there are plenty of fun stuff to do. I never felt threatened for walking alone after dark, even with my cellphone in my hands. Just not too comfortable around drunken guys.
Posted: December 12, 2024Pretty safe though you have to be careful in the night and in unlit areas or overgrown places. It is like most big towns. There can be violence in the centre in the evenings if big gangs get involved.
Posted: June 22, 2024Incredibly safe can walk all the way through city at night with no fear. Everyone is also quite friendly so I do not expect any issue whatsoever with safety, despite it being a very small town. Forest area seems also very safe
Posted: April 5, 2024It’s hard to feel unsafe on Guildford High Street. There is a lot of nightlife in the form of pubs around the highstreet so lots of people around at all times. There are lots of narrow streets in central Guildford which are generally safe but as a rule of thumb, should be avoided after dark. North Street feels a little less safe, but I’ve never been in an unsafe situation there after having lived here for 2 years.
