Very Safe. Small, welcoming town of Northerners filled with lots of tourists from various locations exploring the Peak District. Lived here all my life and walked home from work in the dark around midnight/1am feeling very safe often. Always be cautious but you should have no problem feeling comfortable here as a woman travelling alone.
