Overall Murcia is an incredibly safe place, even more if you compare it to some Spanish cities like Barcelona. People are always welcoming and kind here so if for some reason you begin to worry feel free to reach out for help. Of course, and especially as a woman, I would recommend that you take the usual precautions: don't leave alone your drink when at a party, avoid dark and empty streets at nights, keep your personal belongings close... When it comes to safety on the streets I would say that during daylight it is 100% safe. During nighttime however, there are some places I try to avoid: bus stations, barrio de San Andrés, La Fama... So, to sum up, if you ever come to Murcia, your main fear must be not being able to enjoy everything! (Beaches, city, culture, flood...). As always, stay safe. Greetings from Spain :D
Posted: July 23, 2025It’s a really safe place but it has a few neighbourhoods that aren’t very safe (around Murcia bus station at night) Some of my girl friends going out at night and they didn’t have any bad experiences about safety.
Posted: May 22, 2025From my experience Murcia is pretty safe place to live or visit. I don’t think I ever felt somewhere uncomfortable or unsafe. However I believe that bad things can happen everywhere so sill be aware of it The biggest problem in Murcia is with your bikes, they are being stolen quite often

I would say it is pretty safe as long as you don’t enter sketchy areas late at night. But still, most of the sketchy places aren’t very bad, you just have to be a little cautious. Pepper sprays are allowed and cost around 15 euros I believe, I always have one on me just in case xx

There are places in the city that are not safe but if you dont go there the other places are okay, obviously you need to take care of your things everywhere, is more safe than other places in spain like madrid or barcelona
Posted: March 29, 2025It was beautiful. I went to a town called Águilas and even though it looked somewhat old, the beach was amazing, the food was cheap and good and the vibe was just incredible. Highly recommend. Also the capital is great, it's a total different vibe to the town nonetheless.
