Órgiva

Orgiva is a small town that many people think of as safe. I personally have not had any problems but I have only been here 2 months but walking at night I do feel extremely safe. Take necessary precautions as with any city or country and be aware of your surroundings and you will be fine.

Lugo

It is a very chill city. It is small and not often you will find yourself in crowds. I've lived there until college and nothing ever happened to me being a bit cautious, specially at night like everywhere else. I would consider it a safe city but you always have to be a bit careful.

Laredo

Laredo is a really safe city in the north of Spain between capital cities of Bilbao and Santander. As a female solo traveller, you should be able to freely walk alone at night without feeling harrassed. I have been living in this town for several years now and I have never experienced nor seen any violence.

Madrid

Madrid is a very safe city. I live alone as a young woman and have never felt unsafe as a woman going out at night, walking alone etc. only thing would be a slight risk of pick pockets in crowded touristy areas, but not on the level of many other European cities

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

I think is safe enough. As in everywhere else, you have to be careful where you go as there’s more dangerous and there’s safer places. You might get yelled at by the homeless locals, or you may get catcalled by men, but thats all. You have to be very unlucky to get robed or attacked. Even less probably murdered or kidnapped. I think the most touristic areas of the south can be dangerous if you go by yourself, but they can be okay if you go with a friend, even if you’re all girls.

Valencia

Valencia is safe, as are most cities in Europe. You can walk alone at night without being really worried. It's safe, but don't go walking around areas in the suburbs like barrio del Carmen at 3am as you're gonna have problems. Just use common sense

Spain

Spain is safe. Depending on the areas you visit, it's important to be informed, especially in vulnerable areas. There are very safe cities. It is important to know about the country and understand what you need before moving from one city to another.

Artà

This is one of the safest towns I’ve ever lived in. There is absolutely zero crime or sketchy people. The town is primarily older people and young families. Kids are always playing in town without their parents and there is never an issue. I go running in the dark in the mornings and have never had an issue

La Seu d'Urgell

La Seu is a very small village. It feels really safe in general, as there’s not lots of problems. In terms of going out at night, like everywhere, as a woman there’s a risk, but you can go out alone, no problem

Granada

I love I can walk home alone at night (in my home town I could never do it)… I feel really safe in the city. I feel really safe in the city at all hours because there are always other people around. This is in the city center, the outskirts probably don't work the same way.

Is Spain worth visiting?

Seville, Couple travel

Seville is a great beautiful city full of old architecture, streets, green blooming parks, with singing birds 🦚🦜swans 🦢 , little turtles 🐢. Really I don’t remember much of the names of the famous places. Anyway you’ll like it all I dare. So I just enjoyed the surface, the Spanish 🇪🇸 vibe, Looking around and soaking all in with my favorite food 🥘 paella’s, drinking sangria the only thing that make you cooling in a hot 🔥 siesta time in summer. Sevilla is very hot, but as I told there’s a lot of parks to hide in a shade, of bars are always opened in a hottest hours. Something to see in Seville my recommendation is of course — flamenco 💃🏼. Hot charming passionate Spanish national dance. And just look 👀 around the city

Alicante, Solo travel

Alicante was my first solo trip, and as a woman, I was initially nervous because you always hear stories about what could happen. However, I don’t think I could have chosen a better place in terms of safety, convenience, and the kindness of its people. I truly felt safe at all times. The locals are incredibly friendly—one time, I accidentally got on the wrong bus and didn’t have battery on my phone. I approached a girl for help, and she kindly assisted me in getting on the right bus. The food is absolutely AMAZING. If you’re looking for authentic paella, you simply must visit the Comunitat Valenciana area it’s the real deal! Alicante exceeded my expectations and gave me the confidence to embrace solo travel. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone considering their own adventure.
