How safe is Spain?

Madrid

Madrid is generally safe for women. It depends on the place of course. It's not the same being in Gran Via than in La Cañada Real (which is a very dangerous place). But apart from that, the majority is safe.

Barcelona

Very safe. Only real nuisance is opportunistic pick pocketers. They won’t harm you and most times you can’t tell they just stole your wallet or phone. But it’s still upsetting. Make sure you carry your handbag or rucksack face fronting.

Malaga

I think Málaga is generally a safe city for girls. During the day, I feel comfortable walking around anywhere. At night, I do avoid some less busy or poorly lit streets, but overall it’s easy to enjoy the city and explore without worrying too much.

Ibiza

It is safe if you are where people are. Actually people are vey nice and they will help if you need it. Take always your phone with you. And if you are travelling alone try to not get into dark streets at night. Usually when you leave the areas where there are a lot people are used to be residencial streets.

Valencia

It's pretty safe even at night. But there are some places where I don't recommend to go after dark: Park Turia (only in a day!) and Cabanyal (there is a crime in districts near the sea). IF YOU GO HOME AFTER PARTY: it's better to go on taxi, because transport goes bad at night depends on area. But if you're in a group of people it's okay to wait a bus.
