It’s a pretty safe city, where you’ll feel comfortable walking by yourself even at night. However, as any big city, you need to be careful about pickpokets and, specially around the marginalised areas in the south of the city, take care of where you go alone at night.

About most touristic areas, nothing to worry about at all. Just take care of your belongings, in Plaza de España main square. I recommend u have a walk around the centre and Las Setas. Transport is very safe and often. I have grown up there

Salamanca is overall a really safe place for living and for studying. I usually go out to parties in the night until 5 AM and nothing ever has ever happened to me in the two years I have lived here. I never heard anything similar from my friends either. I would always recommend to watch out though, like all places in the world there are exceptions

Huelva is à relatively small city with a lot of night activities and I've been going out regularly for the past 8 months without any problems either at night or during the day. People here are very welcoming and they are used to foreign people as there are plenty of erasmus students for exemple.

Malaga is generally safe, although things happen everywhere. I still feel unsafe in general because there are a lot of drunks and some people are aggressive at night. But I can be calm during the day walking alone.
Posted: May 7, 2025Oviedo is a very safe city overall, I quite enjoy partying and I can say that there has never been any instances where I have fear for my safety. Walking and night is pretty much safe even on the weekends. I particularly don't do it just because I'm usually pretty beat after partying and wearing heels but I have a handful of friends who almost always walk home after going out, some of them even wearing headphones just fine. I have mainly talked about partying just because it's at night usually where things get dangerous but of course walking around the city in daylight it's even safer. The only thing I would say it's that there are definitely parts of the city that are less safe than others. Even these streets are safer than most big city streets but since these streets are in the outerskirts of the city and there's nothing to see there I think it's just more comfortable to just avoid them and stick to the city center.

Ávila is a very calm and small city. Definitely can say it's safe for people. l'm living here for 10 months already and never heard about someone being stolen, sexualy assulted or raped. Nothing to be worry about.
Posted: May 6, 2025I felt safe there. People are generally very friendly and it feels like they are a little bit more concerned about other's wellbeing than in some other places I've been. Even at night, I didn't feel unsafe.
Posted: May 4, 2025I think it’s mostly safe. There are a few neighborhoods (near Plaza de la Merced, c. Cruz Verde for example) where it feels uncomfortable even in daylight, but overall it’s okay. My bestie went to the mountains alone, but I’m not risking it—I’m too afraid, unfortunately.

It was really good it is so close to Porto so I added some photos from Porto as well. Vigo is a little city near the border between Spain and Portugal. It's mostly quiet and elderly people are living in there. That's why they are trying to keep young people's attention mostly immigrants but they behave well to them, they are really like each other and emphasizing each others cultures
Posted: May 6, 2025Experienced: May, 2024Tenerife was my first travel experience and it went amazing. I was there for one week and have met so nice lovely people. All of them had a easy going way of living. Once we were in Achaman Discopub and they had played lifemusic. The people included us so well and we learned a lot funny spanish dancesteps;)
