I think this has been so far pretty safe and I haven’t had any bad experiences yet and I hope that I don’t get them in the future either. I would say this is usually safe at least in day times but maybe at night not that safe.

Getafe is a safe city in general. The atmosphere on the streets is safe. There are many elderly people and children. There's also a university atmosphere. The public transport is safe and calm. I rate the city's safety at 8/10
Posted: July 10, 2025Valencia is generally a very safe city, but there are some strange people, especially at night. If you're careful, nothing should happen to you. The downtown area is quite safe, even safer than the surrounding areas.

There are a few zones that are slightly more complicated. Someone said "all the neighbours that start with _Can_ except Can Aurell, are to be wary". I am not sure if it's like that. But my experience overall is good. I walk safely and I don't fear. But they say things about those neighbours. Just be careful.

Overall I feel safe. The worst you can expect is something being stolen from you, but so is everywhere. However, it somehow feels much safer than many other places.

I have lived here my whole life, overall the city is super safe except for some neighborhoods like Almanjayar(which I would avoid at all cost) I have walked to my home at all hours of the night and experienced catcalling twice. Overall quite safe, though I would still pay attention. Being a woman is hard

I stayed for 7 days in a hotel which had a minute walk to the centre. My hotel was around 100 per night and my budget for food and activities was €30 per day which was easily achievable. I felt very safe walking at night in the city centre, and the people were very friendly. Not everyone speaks english so try to learn a few basic spanish sentences

I had an amazing time in Malaga, i felt 100% safe walking at night, using public transport or exploring the city, all alone! Food was amazing, you HAVE TO try paella! With chicken, rabbit, shrimp, tofu: all of it was amazing! It's usually a big portion so be prepared!
