It is a great place full of life and tourists, the people are very friendly and there are very few troubled areas far from the center and tourist spots, I always feel safe at all times whether I go alone or with friends.
Posted: January 16, 2025Madrid is pretty safe for solo female travelers. Like jn any other big touristic city you have to be careful about your belongings in big crowds, but in a month here I didn’t have any problematic experiences. I’ve walked by myself in the middle of the night and was not worried for a second. Definitely one of the safest cities ive visited.
Posted: January 15, 2025In general a very safe place, I live in a smaller town so it’s even more safe but travelling in the dark alone is very doable and I have never once felt unsafe. I have never felt unsafe by men or being robbed in general
Posted: January 14, 2025Just be careful, but have fun. Keep your stuff secured by a rope or something, and just say no to any men who talk to you. Make sure they don't follow you afterward. They all want to seem cool and impress you, or they might just be weird. It's hard to find some men who are down to earth. 😩😩

Madrid is like almost all the other capitals: a busy city. We have people from all over the world living or just visiting all year round. I live on the suburbs and feel very safe even walking alone at night, I would say its very familiar (how can I be scared when there's an old lady walking her dog and a mom with its kids at night??). 100% the mainly thing you should worry about are the pick pockets, but at this point they are all over the turistic places (not just in Spain), just be aware of your belongings and you'll be just fine. Also, Madrid is veeery LGBT+ friendly (we have a whole neighborhood dedicated to celebrate the diversity), so thats very cool to :)
Posted: January 13, 2025Living in Madrid has been a wonderful experience. It’s a safe, vibrant city with a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve felt comfortable walking around at all hours, and the locals are friendly and helpful. I recommend.

For a capital city it feels pretty save. In the Center is alway a lot of police showing presents. Of curse it can be dangerous walking alone at night in a stranger neighbourhood or being alone in a club, but within the day I always feel save no matter if I am alone or with friends. The people in Madrid are very nice and helpful.(of corse there are exactions)
Posted: January 12, 2025Madrid is a very beautiful city, full of things to do and see. People are really nice, fun and welcoming. It is a really safe city, although at night can sometimes seem a little scary in the outside of the city, but in the center is full of light and people
Posted: January 7, 2025It depends on the zone you live obviously, but where I live is a very safe place, it has it's thing like everywhere else but I don't have to worry all day when I'm out on vacation if anybody entered my home.
Posted: January 4, 2025Madrid, in general, is very safe, but, as always, somewhat less so for women. The city has an unsafe public transport system at night. However, at night, Madrid is beautiful and full of nice people offering to help you during your visit.

Madrid is one of the most beautiful and alive cities i’ve visited. The people are really nice and easygoing even if the generally can’t speak english. I felt very safe in Madrid, but since it’s a big city there are always neighbourhoods that are less safe than others. I was near Atocha station and that was not too safe but not too bad either. And it was a very strategic position, for the public transports as well. We went to Prado and to Reyna Sofia, we saw Palacio de Cristal, the Ayuntamiento, the Royal Palace and the park El Retiro. We’ve also seen the Real Academia se Bellas Artes, which is an hidden gem: there are like 200 works by Goya and we were also lucky cause that they an art historian gave us a free tour of the museum. A very nice place to get tinto de verano (it’s so good!! and it’s only 5€) is La Kama Cafe and we also liked the cocktails at Yambala (a really cute bar). To move from a place to another we took the underground but also the push scooter, which is actually kinda cheap. Also, you need to try churros with chocolate, we had them at Chocolateria San Gines. If you’re into hispanic literature, an hidden gem that you can’t miss is Calle de las Huertas, a street where on the pavement are written the most famous quotes of spanish literature.

Spain
I recommend go to Chueca, it’s a part of the center that is LGBT+ supportive and it has such a good vibe. I feel pretty safe bcs we stay the night at the center of the city, but I have a friend who live like 30 mins away of the center and she told me that when she has to go home after the university she don’t feel so safe she carry a special key-knife with her just in case
