Don’t walk alone after dark - always go places with someone. Know where not to go. If you’re in doubt, ask. I only ever take cabs and send my live location to a family member on WA. otherwise really good!

I have walked during the daylight only. It was ok feel like I’m in a countryside city. People are kind and simple. I’ll come back with more information tomorrow as I will walk around the city centre and get to know the city better.

Even though there is some crime going around often that spots are really safe Mexico‘s government make sure that tourists are safe and the most popular places are pretty safe. Use uber and avoid walking alone by night and using flashy jewelry
Posted: January 27, 2025Tapachula has immigrations problems. Stay at safe places it not represents a huge dangerous. Near the city there are many ecotourism places that are safe for visitors, such as expeditions to the volcanoes and visits to the coffee route

Playa is moderately safe, every area is walkable without harassment. Also public transport is easy and safe, but you can take your dog in every transportation, yet you do it without paying for your animal. The center could be more violent in the weekends.

It's an relatively small city (island) of 300,00 people with only 2 bridge exits, so not a lot is going on here lol obviously it's not exempt of crime, but common sense like not walking alone in deserted alleys at 2am and sleeping in a safe neighborhood/home is all you need to be good.

Juárez city is a dangerous city to walk through alone, It is somewhat dangerous because it is difficult to walk to the places you want, and unfortunately being a border there are many negative interests, if you noe what I mean. So if you come and stay with me, I promise to give you the best tips and be with you for as long as possible.

Unfortunately Mexico is not safe for woman and we keep fighting for it but is not a nightmare once you find the right people and support. Scams are so common here as well but you have to rely on some local to help you
Posted: January 11, 2025I have never experienced robbery or harassment, but being in Mexico, I do have friends who have experienced harassment. I think it is safe if you know someone from here and are passing through to the United States, for example, but I do not recommend being alone after 6 PM. Unfortunately, women's security here is not efficient.

For women, it is safe during the day, but caution is advised in some areas at night. Preferably, stay in tourist areas and keep an eye on personal belongings; there are crowded areas where it's better to use crossbody bags.

I stayed for a month volunteering in ITH Amazing hostel, so I didn’t spend much money as I exchanged work for accomodation. I could rent surfboards for free and had breakfast included. The city is full of Americans and Canadians that is why is got expensive. You have to try fish tacos (specially from the street) and do the hikings: El Toro, Malpaso and Carricitos.

I was worried before going to Mexico for 3 months on my own, but because of the places I went I worried for nothing! I had decided I wanted to go for a slow paced, relaxed, chill kinda trip, so I only visited that whole yucatan/campeche/quintana roo area. Super touristy and safe! I enjoyed all the colours and music and guacamole and margaritas! I’m sure Mexico has waaaay more to offer if you’d go off the beaten path and be more adventurous, but I enjoyed the safety and beaches and snorkelling this way. I’d rather go explore the more remote areas in countries I feel safer in, and the countries with a more questionable reputation I’d rather stay safe and still enjoy what it has to offer in the more crowded areas:)

Hello, I'm a Mexican who is about to tour the world so I'll be happy to chat and share travel ideas.
Jimena
Hi I’m Jimena I’m a Mexican-American solo female traveler currently on a trip around Europe I would love to use this experience to meet people and learn their culture. I can also would love to share stories of life and just experience the city through your eyes. I personally started traveling when I was young through Mexico seeing the pyramids and the rich culture of my country inspired me to travel outside when i could. I could give you recommendations for Mexico and help you with your Spanish. Nos vemos! ☺️
