Trois-Rivières is generally safe for the most part. There is a lot of homelessness and drug problems in downtown, which is very apparent in Des Forges street and around. In the day it isn’t too stressful because there are a lot of people around and restaurants. I enjoy walking in the evening when it is darker, but it is definitely more stressful and you have to be more careful when you are alone. I haven’t had anything big happen to me, but I do get intercepted getting asked for money and cigarettes or men just trying to talk to me, I sometimes pretend I don’t hear them or say no thanks and quickly move along.
