As a white cis straight passing woman, I feel safe walking in the dark, and taking public transit. There have been occurrences of violence against women and people of colour, so I will not say that Kelowna is completely safe, but Kelowna is generally ok for tourists.

Kelowna is a beautiful city. It’s full visiting in the summer as we have hundreds of wineries and big beautiful lakes. The waterfront downtown is beautiful with many restaurants and night life. Winter is beautiful too. We have an outdoor skating rink downtown and Big White and Silver Star ski hills
Posted: December 31, 2024There is a homeless population to the downtown area. Overall, the main strips around Pandosy Ave are safe at night with lots of restaurants and shops. I feel completely safe everywhere during the day. I solo hike quite often, and feel totally safe (Paul’s tomb, Knox mountain, Crawford falls are my favs) there are usually lots of people around so I always feel safe!
