Is Calgary safe for women?

I do feel that Calgary is one of the more safer cities that I have lived in and travelled to. I’m not fairly too concerned about anything bad happening to me as the crime rate is low here. I even go for a walk in the dark every night in my community, that being said I do live in a gated community.

Typical large north American city: it is generally safe but its best to practice common sense actions. This includes not being too drunk at night, taking drinks directly from the bartenders if a drink is purchased for you, etc

Generally safe as a solo female, especially in comparison to other American and Canadian cities. Low crime and robbery, safe to walk in almost all areas alone. Public transit is declining but still safe

Calgary is quite a safe city for solo travelers and women in general. The police are very friendly and there are peace officers across major traffic areas (especially in downtown). It’s really safe to walk around the neighborhood even late at night

Calgary is very safe! There are some spots downtown to stay away from at night due to the unhoused population, but I have never had a bad experience. Some of the men in nightclubs can hit on you pretty strong, but bouncers do a decent job removing men.

Calgary is a relatively safe city. Like many places I have noticed downtown doesn't feel aa safe as it did before COVID, but during the day and early evening still feels pretty safe. Certain areas should be avoided when alone or at night, transit is less safe than it used to be but safer than in many other places I have travelled.

There are certain areas that need to be avoided, but in general, the city is fairly safe. There is some open air drug use and homelessness. A lot of downtown is vibrant and safe and accessible with regular precautions.

Very safe, unless you are walking alone downtown at dark. Like many Canadian cities, we have an issue with individuals suffering from mental health / drug abuse issues who can get very aggressive, especially on transit and in certain parts of downtown.

Calgary is a pretty safe city. Stay off private property, and stay away from places after dark. Overall, as a woman, I would say that you need to be careful and aware but there are always usually people around and they're very helpful

In most areas of Calgary, you can feel safe night and day. Of course do your research as some areas don't have anything to offer tourists and may not be as safe. Lots of gorgeous walking trails and biking areas that I've always felt safe using. Tourist areas in the vicinity such as Banff and Lake Louise feel completely safe.
