Is Rochester safe for women?

Very safe. A large portion of the population works at the hospital. Family friendly and quiet at night. I often commute to work at 5am and have no concerns being out. I commute by bicycle and no concerns for bike theft, although I lock bike everywhere. Not many options for public transportation.
