Safety:Very safe

Sedona is generally considered to be very safe for solo female travelers. The crime rate is relatively low and locals are friendly and willing to assist if needed. However, like any destination, it's still important to stay vigilant especially at night and while hiking. Always let somebody know your plans and stick to populated areas during evening hours.

Transport:Moderate

Sedona is somewhat easy to navigate by yourself. The city is not too large and most landmarks are fairly close to each other. However, due to hilly terrain and limited public transportation, it could be difficult without a private vehicle. There are taxis and rideshares, but availability can sometimes be a problem. Walking and biking are also viable options, particularly in the city center, and for the adventurous, there are plenty of hiking trails.

Things to do:Fascinating

Sedona is an extraordinarily appealing destination, especially for solo female travelers. Its breathtaking natural beauty, with red rock formations set against clear blue skies, offers endless outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, stargazing, and sightseeing tours. It is famous for its vortex sites known for their spiritual and healing properties. In addition to this, Sedona is home to a plethora of art galleries, unique shops, and exquisite dining options, living up to its reputation as a place for both spiritual growth and adventure.

Food:Above average

Sedona serves up a fantastic variety of cuisines to satisfy every palate, with offerings that range from American, Italian, and Mexican to Asian and vegan dishes. The local restaurants take pride in using fresh, local produce and many boast magnificent views of the red rocks. While there might not be an extensive amount of ethnic cuisine options compared to larger cities, the quality and creativity of the dishes offered are outstanding.

Budget:Moderate

Sedona offers a range of accommodation options from luxury resorts to budget-friendly hostels. However, outdoor activities and tours, like the view of the red rocks, can be a bit pricey. Dining can vary, considering there are both high-end and modestly-priced restaurants. Travel during off-peak seasons for better deals.

Sedona is EXTREMELY safe. 10,000 peopel it’s truly a resort town and there’s ton of hiking , vortexes to explore, organic cafes, and lots of spas and healing services . It’s pricey as it’s #1 wellness tourism destination in USA and people flock there in summer. Horseridinf 20 mins away in Paige springs. And the resort that I now book all my clients at is Ambiente - for a true lux experience .

Solo travel experience

I went to Sedona for my first week-long trip with car camping with my dog. It seemed to be a very safe place and I saw many other solo travelers. I also met many amazing people there. It changed my perspective on traveling. Additionally, the weather was beautiful.

Solo travel experience

Sedona and the desert in Arizona was a trip that radically changed my life. As a person from the East Coast, I had never seen such a Martian landscape before. Incredible beauty. I really liked the Meteor Crater and Monument Valley. I took part in a tour where we slept in a hogan - a traditional Navajo Indian home, and in the morning we could admire the sunrise in the valley. Truly an amazing place.

Solo travel experience

My most important advice would be: get to the start of the trail as early as possible. Even in January - in the lowest season - before 8:30 (less than an hour after sunrise, and the temperatures were still around 30 degrees), Dry Creek Rd was already lined with cars of people heading to Devil’s Bridge. (The road was parked with cars because the parking lot was already full.)

Solo travel experience

I was in Sedona last year. It was my first solo trip. I highly recommend it. Cathedral Rock, Devil's Bridge, Soldier's Pass are my favorite and easy hiking trails.

About Me

Chronically ill spoonie on healing journey. Intentionality and connection with others is what I joined for. I have a dark sense of humor, a whimsical weirdness that many find endearing. I would much rather do laundry or a casual hang out than a fancy dinner. Movies and shows were always an escapism growing up and when I get hooked on a show I love discussing and watching movies or reading together. They tend to be campy and what some would consider cheesy but that's ok. I get along with most people but there is an almost indescribable feeling when you first meet someone and you instantly click and feel so good in their energy and presence. Would love to see if we have that. I am trying to make my way out west as I lost my home due to mold and have been very sick ever since (mixed with autoimmune fun). I have lost so much due to health and I'm not even sure what I'm looking for anymore but alas, here we are on this marble! I am spiritual but not religious. I don't care what you believe as long as you are kind (and funny is always a plus).
