While the seafood is always fresh and well-prepared, the area is known, particularly, for its delicious mole and tlayudas. Aesthetic beachfront dining spots further enhance the experience, although not all of them provide the same level of service. However, keep in mind it might lack in terms of fine dining and some cuisines from around the world.

Couple travel experience

It's super peaceful, very nice for solo or couple travel, and a great escape from the stress of the city. It's a very safe, calm, and beautiful place where you can surf, spend time by the sea, and watch sunsets. You can also easily travel to nearby villages by bus, and they are very affordable.

Solo travel experience

I was just in Puerto Escondido in February and I felt very safe there. I found it to be a really nice seaside town with friendly people. It is a big spot on the map for surfers, so there is a bit of a hippie vibe and there are plenty of tourists.
